Priceless

This is one of the very best things about a spring rain here: The leaves of the lupines (probably Lupinus bicolor, ssp. microphyllus) are constructed in a fashion that collects and holds water exceptionally well. The effect, is that of a field of diamonds in cunning green settings.
Each one you look at is more impossibly wonderful than the last. . .
. . .though, unlike most gems, they are quite damp.
